Certification programs In High school

I am a high school teacher and our school is trying to incorporate a microsoft certification program with our high school students. We can't find very much information about how this would work. For students to become certified in your programs, would the teacher have to first become a certified trainer ? Would the teacher be more like a facilitator while the students work through the online program? What information or help can you provide us to get this going? Thank you!
