AB-100: Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect preperation

There are official resources available now, although the AB-100 preparation material is still relatively new.

1. Start with the Microsoft Learn learning path and complete all 11 modules.
2. Study the official AB-100 Study Guide carefully. The current exam is divided into:
   • Plan AI-powered business solutions — 25–30%
   • Design AI-powered business solutions — 25–30%
   • Deploy AI-powered business solutions — 40–45%
3. Focus heavily on architecture and scenario-based decisions, rather than memorizing product features.
4. Get hands-on experience with Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Power Platform, Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Foundry.
5. Pay particular attention to multi-agent orchestration, MCP/A2A, grounding, security, governance, responsible AI, ALM, monitoring, ROI and model selection. These are explicitly included in the current skills measured.
6. Take Microsoft's free practice assessment and use the exam sandbox before scheduling the exam.

One important point: AB-100 is an advanced Solution Architect-level exam, so I wouldn't prepare for it like a typical associate-level certification. You should be comfortable answering questions such as “Given these business, security, cost and scalability requirements, which architecture should you choose and why?”

If you're coming from a Power Platform/Copilot Studio background, you already have a useful foundation, but I'd spend extra time on Microsoft Foundry, Dynamics 365, enterprise AI architecture, governance/security and ALM.
