SharePoint On-premise OneDrive Application not use registry

Hi everyone

 

I would like to connect from the OneDrive application to my SharePoint on premise. I know that we have to add or update values ​​in the registry. But is there another solution? For example by configuring a Tenant to have my domain name and Azure AD sync with my local AD.

The SharPoint is used by students and they are not domain join (personal laptop). So I can't deploy GPOs and edit registy it's not user friendly. Moreover, some use work computers. Their company blocks the registry access. For macs it's even worse with Plist file.

 

On mobile applications there is a button to connect either with your 365 account or with a url SharePoint server url. It works like a charm. Why we don’t have this choice on the PC application, or have a different application. Is this a way to force use cloud ?
