Sharepoint File inserted in Outlook
Hello,
I use Outlook application.
I want to insert files from Sharepoint sites.
Drag & Drop doesn't work. The reverse Outlook to Sharepoint works.
How can I get Sharepoint to Outlook Drag & Drop to work?
Or how can I access the most frequently used files?
Thanks for your help,
Gaetan
NB. I can't update the SITES or Sharepoint list on these Outlook menus.

OOTB this is not possible. To complement the options provided by @OludareF there are also 3rd party apps that offer this functionality. See https://collab365.com/10-best-sharepoint-email-management-software/and an https://www.slimapplications.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/EmailManagerMailItemsSeparateFiles.png.

Hi,
The solution OnePlaceMail fit exactly our need.
I can now add in my email documents coming from our sharepoint environement -link, pdf or original doc.
Adding information, I can also save my mail in sharepoint using the same environment.
The solution is very easy to install & use.

Hello Gaetan,
I understand the frustration with not being able to drag and drop files from SharePoint into Outlook, as well as the challenges with accessing frequently used files.
Unfortunately, Outlook’s drag-and-drop functionality is limited when working with SharePoint directly.
However, here are a few alternative methods that can help:
1. Attach SharePoint Files via the “Attach File” Menu
2. OneDrive Sync for Easy Access
3. Quick Access or Pinned Files
For frequently used files, you could consider pinning them within your file explorer or browser for easier access. If you’re using the **Office Online** suite, your most recent or pinned documents should appear when you select the **Insert > Attach File > Browse Web Locations > Sites** in Outlook.Unfortunately, the **drag and drop from SharePoint to Outlook** limitation is a known issue. Syncing with OneDrive tends to be the most practical workaround.
I hope this helps, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need further guidance.

For the Drag & Drop, we're using Sharepoint Directly, but it works only from Outlook to Sharepoint, and not from Sharepoint to Outlook... if you have tips, i'm interested in...
For the most recent or pinned documents, you say it should appear when you select the **Insert > Attach File > Browse Web Locations > Sites** in Outlook.
Unfortunatly not, so I'm looking forward how to 'populate' this menu with our most used sharepoint folder.
Did you know how to do this ? (you or other people in community ;+)
Thanks in advance,
Gaetan- OludareFCopper ContributorHello Gaetan,
Thank you for the follow-up.
For the drag-and-drop functionality from SharePoint to Outlook, this is a known limitation. Unfortunately, the drag-and-drop feature doesn’t support files directly from SharePoint to Outlook at this time. However, I know an expert email address removed for privacy reasons who can help explore more advanced workarounds or alternatives for improving this process.
