Global navigation not showing in the app bar
Hello,
I am trying to set up global navigation to appear in the app bar on the left of the screen, but the 'home' symbol in the app bar still directs me to the 'sharepoint start page'. I have followed the steps below:
- Created a communication sharepoint site
- Set the communication site as my organisation's home site within the 365 admin centre
- Enabled global navigation within the settings for the home site
- Set the navigation source as hub or global navigation
- Edited the global navigation labels and links
Can someone please help me understand why I am still not seeing the global navigation in the app bar? (note that I have also waited more than 48 hours).

- In addition to the steps listed in ganeshsanap's reply, I had to enable the Homesite Viva Connection within the SharePoint Admin Area > Settings > HomeSite >Go to Microsoft 365 admin center > Enable.
Madness. I hope this helps someone. ben95 - I'm experiencing the same. Did the global nav eventually update to the desired state?
ben95 Global navigation should be visible after 24 hours after enabling and customizing it.
