Field customizer not rendering properly in a list view webpart

I created a custom field customizer that takes a date in the SharePoint site's default time Central Standard Time and converts that to the users local time according to their computer settings. Everything works perfectly in the actual list but when I try to use the list in a list view webpart the column connected to the field customizer doesn't render for all the items and half the time doesn't render at all and needs refreshing. I was curious if anyone else has been successful using field customizers in list view webparts.
