How to deal with Holidays
How should I remove public holidays in the data?
It is common to filter out 1-5 weeks per year where organizational collaboration averages are significantly below their normal volumes. Commonly excluded weeks include the weeks of Christmas and New Years. Weeks that need to be excluded vary widely by country and region. Typically, holiday weeks with only slightly below below average collaboration are still included. To filter out significant holidays, create a trend line of average collaboration hours per person across the historical period. Observe weeks with significant drops in the average that coincide with major holidays, and then apply a filter to remove those weeks from the analysis.
