Duplicate Sensitivity Label Headers and Footers showing in Outlook emails
Ian Clarke We have a similar issue, we are using a signature tool, in pilot, where emails are passed to a cloud provider to apply the signature and return the email to then be sent out. This back and forth is done with a mail connector to the signature provider. We also use Information protection labels, setup to add a footer, but even as a header the behaviour is the same. What we have found is the label is applied as the email goes to the signature provider, and again when the email is returned to be sent out.
So basically the recipient of the email see's the below, if Information Protection Purview label is configured as a footer.
-----------------------------------
<FROM>
<TO>
<Subject>
<Email body>
Classification: Private
<Signature>
Classification: Private
Or as a header recipient see this behaviour.

I've logged a support case with Microsoft and have reported back that it's a bug. I do hope they fix soon

ratzq Thanks for your information, seems like you face the same issues and thanks for your feedback about the support case.
I also hope they fix it soon or at least provide a possibility to avoid this behaviour within an organization. However there is also a feature on the roadmap "Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection - Label footers enhancement for emails" let's see when this will be launched.
- teomondaJun 28, 2023Copper Contributori noticed it seems to be fixed now. Label footers are added after each email rather than being bundled at the end of the thread

Have you found a solution for this? I am facing the same issue with sensitivity labels.
