Copy Step with Clipboard, But Modify Before Paste?

Hello ... I'm able to successfully copy a step and then paste w/ clipboard, but then, if I modify the name of it the references inside the step don't get modified. 

 

Is there a way I can copy the flow to clipboard (which I know how to do), then modify it to my liking, then paste?
