OneDrive for RISC OS 5
Hi,
The resurgence of vintage computing along with the ever-growing use of Raspberry Pi as a desktop PC, sees more people starting to look at RISC OS as an operating system.
Would Microsoft consider developing tools like a OneDrive module for RISC OS 5 to keep these users within their customer base?
As an existing Microsft user, who has been using RISC OS for a while now, it would be beneficial to access my files on both my Windows 11 and RISC OS.
Cheers,
Barry.

While it's an interesting idea to develop a OneDrive module for RISC OS 5, it's unlikely that Microsoft would prioritize such a development effort for several reasons:
- Market Demand: RISC OS has a niche market share compared to mainstream operating systems like Windows, macOS, and Linux. The number of users who would benefit from a OneDrive module for RISC OS may not justify the investment required for development and maintenance.
- Platform Compatibility: Developing and maintaining a OneDrive module for RISC OS would require significant resources and expertise in RISC OS development, which may not align with Microsoft's strategic priorities or core competencies.
- Resource Allocation: Microsoft typically focuses its development efforts on platforms with broader market appeal and larger user bases. Resources are allocated based on market demand, strategic objectives, and potential return on investment.
- Alternative Solutions: While Microsoft may not develop a native OneDrive module for RISC OS, there may be alternative solutions available from third-party developers or the RISC OS community. These solutions could provide similar functionality through web-based interfaces or third-party applications.
If you are keen on accessing your OneDrive files from RISC OS, you may want to explore alternative solutions such as:
- Using web-based interfaces: Accessing OneDrive through a web browser on RISC OS.
- Third-party applications: Exploring third-party applications or utilities developed by the RISC OS community to access cloud storage services.
- Cross-platform compatibility: Storing files in formats that are compatible with both Windows and RISC OS, allowing you to transfer files manually or through other means.
While it's understandable that you'd like seamless access to your files across different platforms, it's essential to consider the practicalities and market dynamics involved in such developments.
