The option to customize how an embedded workbook appears to others may not be available in certain scenarios or configurations. Here are a few possible reasons why you might not see the "Customize how this embedded workbook will appear to others" option:
- Limited permission: If you have limited permissions in your OneDrive for Business account or the SharePoint site where the workbook is located, you may not have the necessary privileges to customize the appearance of the embedded workbook.
- SharePoint configuration: The option to customize the embedded workbook's appearance may be disabled or restricted at the organization or site level by the SharePoint administrator. In such cases, you will not be able to access the customization options.
- Feature availability: Microsoft regularly updates and improves its products, including OneDrive for Business and SharePoint. It is possible that the option to customize the embedded workbook's appearance has been moved or removed in a particular update or version.
To overcome this limitation, you can try the following alternatives:
- Use Excel Online: If your organization permits, consider using Excel Online to edit and share your workbook. Excel Online provides more customization options for embedded workbooks, such as setting the display options, selecting specific ranges, and adjusting the view.
- Embed as a link: Instead of embedding the workbook directly, you can generate a sharing link to the workbook and provide the link to others. This allows them to open the workbook in their preferred application (Excel Online, Excel desktop, etc.) and customize the view themselves.
- Adjust settings within the embedded workbook: Depending on where you are embedding the workbook (e.g., a website or SharePoint page), you may have some control over the display settings within the embedding platform. Explore the settings available in the embedding platform to customize the appearance of the embedded workbook.
If the options mentioned above do not meet your requirements, I recommend reaching out to your organization's IT support or SharePoint administrator for further assistance. They can provide insights into the specific configuration and limitations within your organization's environment.
Please note that the availability and functionality of features can vary based on your organization's settings, licensing, and updates. The text and steps were created with the help of AI.

NikolinoDE Hi.
I have an individual Onedrive account which used to have the ability to generate and customize embed code (for excel worksheets that I wanted to embed in wordpress via html embed code).
Those options have been removed. I dont see them. I cant access them. This messes up my whole blogging strategy so I need to decide what to do next.
I think (no one has confirmed it to me yet) Microsoft has decided to remove this functionality from "public" users of Onedrive. I dont have a business sharepoint account but I've heard the customize option is still available there. Can you verify this?
Getting a confirmation would at least allow me move on and come up with another strategy.
Thanks and Regards,
Waleed
