Account de-activated and files deleted after 2 years
My one drive account was automatically de-activated by Microsoft and all my files were deleted as I did not access my account for over 2 years. This account held all of my university work. I have recently re-activated my account and all the files are gone. I was given email warning, however I rarely use my personal email and didn’t notice until it was too late.
I used an external hard drive as a back up which has been corrupted and I’m not able to recover any files.
I was a June 2018 graduate, and my university have also deleted all files from there system.
I spoke to Microsoft on the phone and have been advised there’s no way to recover the deleted files.
I’m wondering if any IT experts within Microsoft would have the access to old back ups and may be able to work some magic for me to recover deleted files.
Please contact me if there are any solutions.
I would recommend that for instances like this, Microsoft would consider not de-activating accounts to prevent any reoccurring offence. This has cost me a significant loss in university work and the loss can’t be put into words.
