Skype for Business client on Office 365 suite

Hi,

Anybody could share what happen to Skype for Business client on Office 365 suite when Skype for Business online is going to be end at 2021? Will that become end of lifecycle as well and be removed from the suite.

 

Asking this because we and perhaps others as well might use that package to on-premises Skype for Business environment.

    Hi Petri-X, thanks for reaching out! My apologies for the slow response. I chatted with my colleague Buck and it sounds like he was able to answer your question. Is that correct? For anyone else in the Tech Community, the Skype for Business client will be a part of the Office 365 suite as it is currently, and you should be able to install (or maintain) Office 365 with or without the Skype for Business client. Additionally, by maintaining the Skype for Business client in Office 365, it can be used to join Skype meetings outside of the organization.
