MS Office 2010
My Office 2010 suddenly stopped working after many years. This is infuriating as I am trying to finish my PhD. It seems MS stopped supporting Office 2010 and therefore it doesn't recognize a product key for Office 2010. After forced updates, my programs aren't valid anymore... Well, what if I don't want support, log-in services, or updates and I just want my stand-alone CD-ROM installed Office 2010? I hate this new era of subscriptions to everything! What a business model -- why let customers own computer programs or movies or anything if you can get them to pay a yearly subscription? I hope someone from MS actually reads this, one because I actually want help to keep the program I bought and installed, and two because MS ought to be aware that this business model (which seems to be borrowed from Apple's old playbook) is not cool with everyone!
