Optimizing bandwidth for Microsoft Store app updates on Windows 10 devices
As part of the journey to "modern IT" we would like to embrace the self managed application deployment scenarios with Store for Business along with the new packaging technologies provided with MSIX - this appears to be quite straight forward.
But then: if we would want to preload and/or push applications to devices - ideally based on Active Directory Group based entitlements for DEVICES - would we still need to leverage out SCCM environments and processes ? moving forward to an ear past SCCM - how would that look like ?
an MDM (such as Intune) appears to be the logical choice - how about plans / features within Store for Business ?

The recommended strategy to take advantage of all of the built in mechanisms for deployment optimization (WU APIs, Delivery Optimization, etc.) is to onboard the packaged applications as LOB applications through the normal process.

Then you can integrate Intune or Configuration Manager into the Store for Business tenant to assign and push these applications to end users. Once configured, they leverage the store platform and its parallel features for deployment and servicing.
