MSIX Packaging Tool Error (Failed to generate valid package)

When packaging the "machine install version" MSI for LogMeIn's GoToMeeting, the packaging tool fails MakeAppX when saving the package due to a bad syntax in the AppXManifest file.

 

The issue is that the vendor's installer creates a shortcut with an argument, and the argument ends with a space character.  The MMPT puts this into the Desktop7:Shortcut element as the Argument parameter, and although the tool did a bit of parsing to create the parameter value (escaping out things like < and > with the html equivalents), it does not remove the trailing space character, which is not allowed per the Schema.

 

This can be worked around by manual editing of the AppXManifest, but the tool probably shouldn't produce an invalid manifest.
