Is it possible to import CSV into Azure Test Plans using Azure CLI.
Hello All,
I have prepared test cases and exported them into a CSV format following the Azure Test Plan import template. I would like to know whether it is possible to import this CSV into Azure Test Plans using Azure CLI.
I have "BASIC + TEST PLAN" access
Your Basic + Test Plans access is relevant, but it does not add a dedicated CSV-import command to Azure CLI. Microsoft's documented bulk-import workflow is in the Test Plans web interface: open the target plan and suite, choose Import test cases from CSV/XLSX, upload the file and review its mappings. Keep IDs blank for new cases, preserve the required headers and use UTF-8 for CSV. Also confirm your project permissions allow editing test cases and managing the target suite. For unattended automation, treat this as a separate REST-based integration rather than passing the CSV to an undocumented CLI command. Your code would need to parse rows, create or update Test Case work items and add them to the appropriate suite. Validate a small sample first, especially multi-step cases, and retain an export before updating existing IDs.
