Public Preview - Strange Behavior
Everyone in my org is under the Follow Office Preview by virtue of the global default Teams Update policy. However, some folks are on Office Current Channel (Preview) but do not have the "P" on their profile pic in Teams and don't appear to be on Teams Public Preview. At the same time....some folks are on the preview channel for Office and actually DO have the letter "P" and are on Teams Public Preview. How is this possible? What am I missing?

- Hi, not sure I follow you here. But the new policy will allow users to automatically be in the Public Preview channel of Teams if they are in Current Channel Preview for M365 Apps. No other channel scenarios will enable that. I would look for two things, first if the users are assigned to the update policy (check under Users in TAC) and also verify under "About" in the Teams client settings if the option to switch to Public Preview is there or not. Being assigned to the policy and eligible for Teams Public Preview simply enables the possibility to switch back and forth between "standard mode" and Public Preview, where the latter mode brings out the P.
- pnthrzruleIron ContributorHi and thanks for responding
We have the TAC update policy set to default for everyone. Default being follow Office Preview.
Some users who are on Current Channel (Preview) for Office are getting the P and seeing the public preview option in the about section. Some users who are on Current Channel (Preview) are not seeing the P and are not seeing the public preview in about. Everyone has the same Teams Update policy- RikkyCitraBrass Contributor
Hi. I am sure that the feature Teams Public Preview follows office Current Channel (Preview) has been rolling out for sometime. But just now I check it is back to in development.
