Now in public preview: Share computer audio on web

Description

Users who share screen in Teams calls and meetings on web (in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome) now have the option to share computer audio along with sharing screen.

How to enable

Any user who can share screen in a Teams call/meeting on web platform (using Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome) can now share computer sound along with screenshare by going to:

• Share tray in meeting/call > Screenshare > Desktop/Window > Select Entire Screen or Tab > Check Share system audio or Share tab audio option > Click on Share.

Note 1: If you need information about enabling the public preview itself, see “Enable the public preview for Teams” below.

Note 2: To be able to use this feature, the sharer of the system audio has to be in Public Preview. Receivers of the system audio are not required to be in Public Preview.

Supported clients and platforms

This feature is available on the latest versions of Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome on all OS wherever they can be installed.

This feature allows to share system audio only during screen sharing scenarios.

1. First, IT admins need to set an update policy that turns on Show preview features. Learn how at Public preview in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Docs.
