Now in public preview: Automatic lowering of a user's Raised Hand after speaking
a. because it doesn't work right
b. because everything should be configurable
c. because hand raising might be used for purposes other than the next sentence you speak
d. because the "keep it raised" popup doesn't appear when you think, only stays for half a second, and is generally not sufficient to workaround these issues
Given that this is literally the only feedback people have, how are you surprised still.

a. works fine for our users (no "complaints" here)
b. yeah that would be a honored wish, but as we see everywhere in all tools or also in operating systems like Windows, it is not always the case (taskbar adjustments, Explorer navigationbar, etc.)
c. to be honest, that doesn't count. It is the purpose of the feature. Just cause some people use a drill to put nails into a wall, it doesn't mean it has to work well ;) - There are mostly other apps inside Teams for your adapted purpose, like polls or Q&A
d. no issues yet so far
Surely it would be nice to have it configurable, but we didn't experience any major issues with it yet.

Literally the entire feedback on this update is just people telling you how they want this feature gone or disableable. Easy to say you don't have any complaints, if you ignore everybody's complaints.
