I think it would be best if there were a setting to disable this.
It seems like it would be useful in larger meetings with a main presenter and many people asking questions.
However, in our small team Agile Scrum meetings, we raise our hands as soon as we know we'll want to bring something up in sidebar at the end of the meeting. I often miss the popup notification which allows me to keep my hand raised because I'm focused on shared content in another window.
