Executable for New Teams

Hi All,

Just wondering if anybody knows details on how the New Teams installs within the client?

Also is there an executable we could use to install the New Teams?

Our laptops are locked down via GPO and so predetermined users who are in the public preview teams update policy cannot install the New Teams. The New Teams toggle is visible but it cannot be installed.

Thanks

Hassan

    Hi HassanAfzal1,

Microsoft provides an executable (.exe) file for the new Teams client so you can deploy the application directly to the computers in your organization.

This reference link could help you:

Bulk deploy the new Microsoft Teams desktop client - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

LeonPavesic I don't think your answer was an answer to the question. I have the same question. We lock down our users' computers via policy. We only allow a few programs to run, and we list those exe files in the policy. One of the allowed programs is Teams, so we put "Tems.exe" in the list. However, the new Teams has an executable with a name like MSTeams_23272.2707.2453.769_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.exe and that name will change every time Teams updates itself.
We obviously have no desire to change the name of the allowed Teams app on a frequent basis. What can we do to address this?
