Microsoft Steam (SharePoint) Time codes
dthakar - Oops, sorry about that! I had a typo. The single quote should be double quotes. I just tested it and it works with double quotes, like this:
&nav={"playbackOptions":{"startTimeInSeconds":60}}
I'll update the help doc to correct my mistake.
Marc Mroz have you tried adding chapters which appears to do the same thing as the old comments :). Stop anywhere on the video, click 'add chapter' then drop in a note - the timecode is stamped automatically.
- Adil1982Sep 10, 2022Copper ContributorNot sure this provides the same user experience. It would be good to attach comments to o timecodes, so that a threaded discussion could occur around that comment (think Loom.com). With chapters, you've got to then reference your comment back to the chapter.

Comments tied to specific time codes is on our radar too. But not working on it yet.- KimWhiteDec 08, 2022Copper Contributor
Marc Mroz I'd really like to have this functionality back again too. It allows me to comment on someone else's video and let them and others quickly find the moment that I'm referring too. I can and will just type out the time but trying to manually find a specific time using the progress bar is really painful

Chapters just released to world wide in the last few weeks! Chapters are a great way to have specific points in the video to help viewers get to the right part of the video.- Billy LarivièreSep 08, 2022Copper ContributorFrom what I am experiencing, it seems that activating the "chapters" function negates the possibility of adding a specific timing when sharing a video. Is there a workaround to this?
Can we share a video and "start playback at a specific chapter" embedded in the link?
Or is there a workaround so I could still share a video with specific "stat playback at" function, event though I have the "chapters" activated?- Marc MrozSep 08, 2022

Billy Larivière - Can you explain more?
With your video in SharePoint or OneDrive you can turn on the chapters side pane in "Video settings" and then add chapters at specific time points. Anyone who see the video can navigate the video by these chapters no matter what.
Also, just rolled out to 100% of worldwide yesterday (GCC coming soon) is the new Stream web app. If you open the video in the new Stream branded web app (via stream.office.com, web part, share link, or "Open in Stream" button from the ODB/SPO preview page). There is now a new "Copy link at current time code." This lets you link to the video and playback will start at that specific point in time.
To get a link that starts the video at a specific point in time...
- Click on the chapter you want to link to or just scrub the video timeline to a specific point
- Click the "Share" button
- Click "Copy link at current time"
- Change the link settings like you would for any other share link (pick link type, view, edit, download, etc)
- Send that link to someone else to click
- When the user clicks the link it'll start playback of the video from the time in step 1
