I thought we'd be able to use Stream for playing videos on Teams meetings without lag but we can't?
From everything I've read, we should be able to host a video on SharePoint or OneDrive in order to share it in a teams meeting. It doesn't seem like this feature works. Stream isn't an app av...

I'm not sure what this is but it sounds like you're putting a Stream Classic app - which is why the Stream on SharePoint URL isn't working.
I'm not sure I understand your scenario. I appreciate the screensharing a video will be laggy for the people in the meeting who are watching your screen share. We've seen similar issues with YouTube videos where the frame rates of the video are low - but at least the audio does play through well.
Is there an issue doing it this way and then putting a link to the video in Chat in the meeting for people who want to view the full fidelity version later?

YouTube videos work fine but it’s strange there isn’t a better solution for teams to just stream a video for a large meeting to view together live. Zoom seems to accomplish this just fine.
We could send people the video, but then why have a meeting at all?
The point is there should be a solution to share a video over teams in a way that everyone is watching it at the same time. To have to explain this further is a little strange.
