For Microsoft certification exams like AZ-500, if you don’t pass on your first attempt, you need to pay for each subsequent attempt. Microsoft doesn’t offer free retakes by default.

A few tips:

Check if your organization has exam vouchers or benefits that cover retakes.

Sometimes Microsoft Learn events, challenges, or training days provide free or discounted exam opportunities.

Make sure to review the exam skills outline and try the practice tests before retaking.

You can schedule a retake at any time, but it will generally require payment unless you have a voucher.
