New to IT Help Desk - Looking for Beginner-Friendly Resources
Hello! I'm Julia, just started out in the IT field. Right now, I'm learning the fundamentals of computer hardware and networking, and I joined this community to grow with others who are passionate about tech. If anyone has recommendations for beginner-friendly resources, I'd love to hear them! 🙂

Welcome! I think the best beginner start would be to learn about cloud concepts: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/paths/microsoft-azure-fundamentals-describe-cloud-concepts
That really is the start going into cloud. If you're just starting out, don't worry about it too much. The most important of doing IT helpdesk is asking questions to understand what the "actual" problem is the user is facing. Usually they don't know themself and just describe symptoms. The deep technical knowledge follow later :)- JeluakaCopper Contributor
Thanks so much for this—really appreciate the link and the encouragement. I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the acronyms and tools, so it’s reassuring to hear that asking good questions is the real starting point. I’m definitely leaning into curiosity and trying to build that deeper understanding over time. Cloud concepts first, then onward!
