error winword.exe - (0xc0000142)

Hello,

 

I need help related to the error winword.exe (0xc0000142).

I tried to get help via the support via my MS account - no help available.

This error approached this morning after updating MS Office 365

    Good Morning MarioOtterbach,

     

    the error seems to be a common error relating to failed updates. Just when googling the error code, I found a number of solutions all regarding repairing office / removing and reinstalling updates. Just as an example, here are the first two hits on google:

    • https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/error-0xc0000142-when-you-start-an-office-2016-application-0249adb1-06d7-41a3-b2df-da5ff57fab37
    • https://www.wintips.org/fix-error-0xc0000142-application-was-unable-to-start-correctly-in-office-2019-2016/

    Perhaps try the instructions at one of these pages. It seems to be a fairly standard issue generally pointing towards updates.
