  • hi Mayank12 Yes, this is a known behavior. After recent Windows cumulative updates, the Copilot app icon has been removed/disabled on some devices. Microsoft announced that Copilot will no longer appear as a standalone app entry in Settings > Apps and will instead be integrated directly into Windows (taskbar, sidebar, or via Edge).

    Why it’s missing?

    • Copilot in Windows is being restructured — Microsoft is deprecating the "separate app" model.
    • After the update, the Copilot toggle in Settings > Personalization > Taskbar might be turned off.
    • In enterprise environments, some updates also reset or disable Copilot via Group Policy / Intune policies.

    You can try below

    1. Check Taskbar Settings
      • Right-click taskbar → Taskbar settings → Turn Copilot (preview) back on.
    2. Check Group Policy / Intune
      • Path: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > ChatGPTCopilot (or Windows Copilot settings).
      • Ensure it’s not disabled by policy after the update.
    3. Update Edge
      • Some features rely on the latest Microsoft Edge build. Update Edge to confirm Copilot integration.
    4. Confirm Windows Build
      • Copilot in Windows is officially supported on Windows 11 23H2 and above. If your update shifted build versions, behavior may change.
    5. Enterprise Message
      • Microsoft is rolling out Copilot changes in waves. For some environments, the standalone app may no longer return, as Copilot becomes integrated with Windows instead of showing as a separate app.

it’s expected after recent Windows updates. If you want Copilot back on the taskbar, enable it via taskbar settings or confirm policies.
