Can we replace Windows Domain Controller with Azure Active Directory Domain Service (Azure AD DS)

Hi All, 

I consider to demote on-premise windows server domain controller to use Azure AD DS (Native Service PaaS). This possible or not to Migrate on-premise windows server domain controller to Azure AD DS then decommission existing on-premise windows server domain controller. How about the step to migrate and what is the consern
