I have had a thought. This repo was for the 2-day version of AZ-900.
AZ-900 is now a 1-day course and all the labs now use Learn sandboxes so I suspect this repo is no longer used and has been removed.

It's had been updated 10 days ago while english one is not available.
I have had a response from Microsoft support
"I received an update from our Support Team and confirmed that the GitHub lab repository was for a course that has been discontinued".
So, as I suspected, as the 2-day version of the course has been retired, and only the exercises in the Microsoft Learn sandboxes are available.
The reason for the repos in the other languages still being there is, I guess, that Microsoft hasn't gotten around to removing them yet
