Enable per‑user language selection for phishing simulation emails and landing pages
It's been so long (we started with the Defender Attack Simulator in late '21 or 22) that I can't remember, but some parts of the simulator are supposed to be multi-lingual. However, a year later the simulator went through a rough patch where it simply could not be trusted to get that right and we resorted to running everything monolingual. Tenant payloads, landing pages, notifications, the lot. The training modules did tend to select desktop language properly, but there is a steady tailing off in quality the further one moves from English or French and for anything else you really want to pilot test. You might just have subtitles.
Fast forward to fall '25 and there is a new hazard to watch out for. The greatly expanded list of global payloads is evidently far greater that the coders originally intended and there is distinct instability once four or five payloads have been loaded. Watch your wizard very carefully and double-check the result before you send the attack. If you have to use that back button, check every step again. If you do not, there is a good chance that the wrong detail will magically be selected.
Using the language filters to find a preferred global payload worked for me. Once you have that, take the language filter off and pick a single well-chosen keyword to filter the desired payloads for all languages. Still be careful - there are many payloads whose names alter right at the end and of course the simulator is going to offer some out of order until all of the possible matches are retrieved.
