Is MDE off-boarding required when disposing of a device?

Hi team,&nbsp;I'm checking the following article about MDE off-boarding.Is off-boarding necessary before disoposing of a device which MDE on-boarded?&nbsp;I would like to know if there is any potential for problems when not off-boarding.https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/defender-endpoint/offboard-machines?view=o365-worldwide

I'd like to know the same thing.&nbsp; Often times a machine dies or is unjoined from Azure AD.&nbsp; If MDE is not offboarded, those machines till seem to check in to the intune portalIs there anything that can be done on the back end to offboard it from the MDE device portal?&nbsp; I realize you can exclude devices but it's not ideal.
