Toggle switch in copilot.microsoft.com to select work vs web is not appearing for all users

When accessing copilot.microsoft.com, some of our users that are licensed for M365 Copilot are able to see the toggle switch to choose if the prompts should be for work vs web, whereas most others do not get this toggle button despite having similar licenses.  We suspected this had something to do with caching, cookies, or similar, yet despite clearing these settings did not resolve the issue.  I'd appreciate any feedback/guidance on this.  Note - this happens in both Chrome and Edge.

It seems that, at least in my case, this switch is depending on how do I access the copilot.
    If I'm using https://copilot.microsoft.com I don't see the "work/web" toggle.
But if I'm using https://bing.com and from there I'm selecting the copilot icon, then I would see that switch.
And in both cases I was logged in using my work account, because on the personal account the switch will not be available anyway.

This just worked for two of our users. Going to Copilot and Sign In were not working, but going to bing.com and the Copilot option allowed it to load the page, but it is using bing.com as the URL. So far, Work/Web is showing up and they are logged in with their work account.

Hi, I have the same problem here. Have you found a solution? If so, can you tell me how you did it?

FrankBastone I had the ability to toggle between “work” and “web” on my iPhone version of copilot last night. It was pretty awesome. As of today that functionality is gone. Super bummed about it. Wondering if Microsoft made a mistake and gave users like me access to something it didn’t mean to.

Same here. Although the toggle appears on bing.com/chat, it is nowhere to be found in copilot.microdoft.com

Same on copilot app on Android.

Follow up: I was able to toggle between "work" and "web" on my computer yesterday and the day before. As of today I cannot. I still haven't been able to reenable the functionality on my phone app

Has anyone gotten a response from Microsoft on this? Is this an issue or expected results?

This seems to just be a visual glitch only because some people mention you can go to bing.com/chat or in our case we noticed this was fixed by hitting the menu icon and changing appearance from Light to Dark.
The toggle still shows up once you switch back to light too.

We have a few employees with this same issue. It seems to occur on both Win10 and Win11 PCs so no commonality there. Things we have tried so far:

    • Checked that they were licensed
    • Reset all Edge Settings
    • Deleted all Edge Cache
    • Went to copilot.microsoft.com and signed in
    • Signed out and back into Edge profile
    • Updated to Windows 11 24H2
    • Updated Edge to latest version

This is the slider that is missing
