Stylus glitches across screen in onenote

My stylus will draw random lines in any direction, typically upwards, when using a pen to draw in onenote. Its not the pen, as ive used several different pens, or the laptop, as it happens no matter what laptop i use

Ive tried reinstalling, recalibrating the pen, disabling the touch input when using the pen, changing the pen tip and none of those methods work.

I was wondering if anyone had the same issue as me and was able to fix it?

I have a feeling it might be when onenote notebooks are online and regularly updating to sync changes, but am unsure

Occurs in both onenote for windows 10 and onenote 2016
