OneNote Audio Playback error

Onenote can not play recorded audio on a Bluetooth device. I have tried resetting my laptop, reinstalling the app but I keep getting the same message "onenote cannot start audio playback" and "we had a problem trying to record or play audio and won't be able to do it" This only happens when I use my airpods but works with wired earphones. Is there a way to fix this issue, because it has become bothersome.
