Office Customization Tool (Web) for O365-E3 or higher // MigrateArch="TRUE" setting not supported?
So I used the new Office Customization Tool to create an XML file to add to my Intune "Client Apps" deployment.
I was trying to achieve the following:
- Replace Old MSI based installs to Click2Run
- Upgrade from 32bit to 64bit deployment
- Include OneNote 2016 desktop executable
- Exclude Groove
- Exclude Skype for Business
- Exclude Access
However I couldn't find a setting to set MigrateArch="TRUE".
So I setup the config, saved it. Then I downloaded it to local XML file.
I edited the XML to add
<Add OfficeClientEdition="64" MigrateArch="TRUE" Channel="Monthly" ForceUpgrade="TRUE">
So when I upload that edited file, the MigrateArch setting is thrown away with no warning by config.office.com
I think this is a a bug and a feature request ---
- Bug - the import of XML shouldn't just report success when settings are discarded .. success with warnings maybe?
- Feature Request: Please support MigrateArch
- Feature Request2: Please document what xml elements are currently supported
Thank you
Neil_a_Consultant thank you for the feedback. We are working on changes to config.office.com to include support for this attribute. At this time I do not have an ETA to share.
