The message you are seeing in Excel 365 regarding the use of confidential information stored in "Microsoft Identity" is related to your macOS keychain. The keychain is a secure storage system on your Mac that stores passwords and other sensitive information.

When Excel attempts to access certain information or settings stored in the keychain, such as login credentials, it may prompt you to provide the password for the keychain to access that information securely.

To resolve this issue and stop receiving the message, you can try the following steps:

    1. Make sure you are using the correct password:
      • Enter your macOS user account password when prompted.
      • If you are not sure about the password, try entering your Mac login password or the password you usually use to access your Mac.
    2. Reset your keychain password:
      • If entering your current password does not work, you may need to reset your keychain password.
      • Open "Keychain Access" from the "Utilities" folder within the "Applications" folder.
      • Go to "Keychain Access" > "Preferences".
      • Click on the "Reset My Default Keychain" button.
      • Follow the prompts to reset your keychain password. Note that this will remove the saved passwords from your keychain, so you will need to re-enter them later.
    3. Remove the Excel-related entries from the keychain:
      • Open "Keychain Access" from the "Utilities" folder within the "Applications" folder.
      • Search for any entries related to Microsoft Excel or Office 365.
      • Right-click on the entries and choose "Delete" or "Remove" to remove them from the keychain.

After performing these steps, restart Excel and check if you still receive the prompt for the keychain password. If the issue persists, it is recommended to contact Microsoft Support for further assistance, as they can provide more specific guidance based on your system configuration and circumstances. My knowledge of this topic is limited, but since no one has answered it, I entered your question in various AI. The text and the steps are the result of various AI's put together.
