Different font styles in same line

Hi all, 

the scenario: taking notes that involve writing code alongside normal typing

the problem: I can't style different parts of the same line with different style of fonts. 

example(without context): $ git log allows us to see the commit (we see the message) we just made. 
I can't use code style in the "$ git log" part of the sentence while using Arial/Calibri in the rest of the sentence.

Any solutions?
