Tips and tricks for DLP in Microsoft 365 wanted

Hi all,

I am creating DLP policies for our Microsoft 365 tenant.

I have basically created 6 policies

UK financial data - Exchange

UK financial data - Sharepoint + OneDrive

UK Medical data - Exchange

UK Medical data - Sharepoint + OneDrive

UK Privacy - Exchange

UK Privacy - Sharepoint + OneDrive

This was mainly because the action on a policy that has Exchange, SharePoint  and OneDrive as location only shows me one action to restrict but that does not work for Exchange. If i have a separate policy for Exchange i see other things like Forward for approval to certain people.

I really struggle getting policy tips working for Outlook, does anyone know if there is a trick to this?

Also i split out the finance, medical and privacy because i saw an article that mentioned under some circumstances policy tips in outlook does not work https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/outlook-dlp-policy-tips-not-working-for-certain-conditions-in-email-body-and-attachments-8a32496a-3478-403c-b2eb-04a218f7443c?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

Ideally i wanted to block emails sent to the outside world, but i struggle to see how. instead we opted for getting approval on emails.

I would really appreciate some tips and tricks.

Our DLP policy is basic and is pretty much to stop people sending sensitive data outside the organisation.
