Macro settings for Outlook

There is a policy described here for Outlook:

https://www.cyber.gov.au/acsc/view-all-content/publications/microsoft-office-macro-security

Apply macro security settings to macros, add-ins and additional actions - set to Enabled

Security settings for macros - set to Security Level: Never warn, disable all

This has the side effect of prompting users with the screenshot below. They can either Trust the certificate or enable/disable the plugin. We can add the certificate to the Trusted Publisher store but if things like Teams are automatically updated by Microsoft, there is no real way to manage this and users will get the prompt every time Teams is updated. Is there anyway to manage this permanently.

    Hi mistermung,
    Did you resolve this issue? I'm now facing the same one with Teams in Outlook.

      I've just started working through this E8 requirement also.

      Outlook seems to not acknowledge trusted locations so i'm now looking at either Trusted Add-ins or Trusted Publishers.

      Did you have any success?

        @CoalCrasder.
        Yes. Had the Teams Add-in in the allowed add-in list, but also had to switch off the "Apply macro security settings to macros, add-ins and additional actions".

        Hope this helps you.
