Blocked Domains - Team Invites

We are testing blocking domains in Azure AD > External Identities > External collab settings > Deny invitations to specific domains.  When inviting a guest user to a Team, the invitations are going through okay for the domains we have blocked.  Does that setting not apply to Microsoft Team guest invites?
