Remove Update Ring
I had to make an update ring to defer updates last week because of an issue with the update. Now the issue has been resolved and are looking to remove the deferment. Can I just delete the update ring? Or can I just unscope the assignments and it will remove the update ring settings? End goal is to remove the block on updates. Thank you
Hi jeremynelson87,
to remove an update ring in Intune, follow these steps:
- Go to the Update rings for Windows 10 and later policy in Intune.
- Choose the update ring you wish to eliminate.
- Click on Delete to cease enforcing the settings for the selected Windows update ring.
It's important to say that deleting a ring removes its configuration from Intune, preventing it from applying and enforcing those settings.
However, this action doesn't alter the settings on devices already assigned to the update ring. These devices will retain their current settings. If you want to adjust settings on the devices, consider creating a new update ring with the desired configurations and assigning it to the wanted devices.
