Can't update Intune firewall policy as Global admin

Hello,

I tried to update group assignments of existing policy(policy type is Windows Firewall Rules) in Intune with Global administrator role.

I add some Entra ID groups and click Save.

However, nothing happens even though a notification appears that it was successfully changed.

I created new policy and assigned some groups, after that tried to update group list but again the same issue.

Does anyone have this experience? It's look like something related to Microsoft.

Thanks

This is most likely due to incident IT1180739 (you can find this in admin centre service health)

Title: Admins can’t add or remove Microsoft Entra groups to existing policy assignments in the Microsoft Intune admin center

User impact: Admins can’t add or remove Microsoft Entra groups to existing policy assignments in the Microsoft Intune admin center.

More info: This specifically impacts editing endpoint security policy assignments.

Yes, thanks. We have received this:

We've detected a Microsoft Intune policy assignment issue in your environment. If you attempted to modify a policy assignment between 10/22/2025-10/27/2025, the modification won't be applied, and you'll need to take action. Prior to the outage mitigation, if an admin attempted to add/remove assignments, changes would not take effect even though they would see a success notification in the portal. The policy summary does not include the intended change if they are impacted.
