Problem that copilot is unable to see all my emails in outlook
Same problems, same symptoms, same testing results.
I asked CoPilot using the InBuilt Outlook desktop CoPilot client to "Find me email from Neil @ COMPANYNAME that have pictures either in the body of the email or as attachments from within the last 4 to 6 weeks"
CoPilot confidently told me that there were none before 2025, i asked it to check again using the date range provided, again, it told me that there was no email after 2025. I gave it a screenshot of the email from Sept 17th. and it said:
"What I should have said is:
"The search results did not return any recent matches, however I cannot conclude that none exist because the currently open email from 17 September 2026 clearly contains picture attachments."
That's the evidence-supported position.
Frankly, this is very similar to the issue you pulled me up on during the NEOS troubleshooting: I treated an incomplete search result as authoritative when the available evidence showed otherwise. The correct approach is to trust the evidence, not the absence of search hits.
"
If it lies so confidently about a simple thing like an Outlook search how can we put any faith into it doing anyth else correctly.
