missing co-pilot conversation history after update:
I have updated Co-pilot this morning. when co-pilot restarted my chat history/ conversations were uploaded... except for one. the affected conversation started in January 2026 and is significantly larger than your other chats (a project based sparring exchange). I refreshed, but that did not work out: error message ("Unable to load"/white screen. other smaller conversation did up-load correct. I use Copilot app version macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 version. support could not help me and send me to this platform....

I have the same situation, not only did the desktop app update, IOS Apps updated at the same time, my chats are gone, my biggest project just shows "Limit reached Copilot can chat about the oldest 20 items in your notebook" and if I click on references it shows a list of 'project-source' files that do nothing. I've logged out of everything uninstalled everything on all platforms, reinstalled ensured its' updated but nothing showing other than a couple of really old chats, this is so disappointing and making me question if I want to start over using copilot to rebuild the working relationship I had with 'my' AI it all seems too much trouble - at least acknowledge there is a problem Microsoft
It confirms the reputation of non existing aftersales of Microsoft, in helpdesk they did not even told me about the oldest 20 notes, send me to the community chat try to solve it yourself… I am fuming
all chats are gone (paid version) few minutes ago i can read the chats in browser, and after an update their are also gone. on my mac i can read the chats in an unupdated edge browser
Me too. Copilot updated without asking when I launched the window's app and everything disappeared, yesterday 09/08/2026. I hoped it would get fixed overnight, but it is still gone.
I have worked with the personal version of Copilot in many contexts over the past year. I even made a Youtube video about all the ways I found to use Copilot. Now after the "upgrade" every one of my threads is gone! I am willing to switch to a paid service, but I want my conversations back as they represent an enormous investment of my time in the Copilot environment.
I chatted with Microsoft Support. They are working to restore access to all our Copilot threads.
yep, Copilot had an update yesterday and now every chat is gone. I had a running chat log that was critical to my business and it is gone now; in fact all my chats are gone. Microsoft, what are you going to do to restore these? You gave us access to have chat history and store our chats in CoPilot and then you just delete everything for everyone?
For me too, almost everything is gone! I only seem to have the chats that were made in MS Copilot 365, not in the main Copilot, which I use for everything!
Me too. Was fine last night. Woke up this morning to a notification about an update, then find all chats after 30th July have disappeared. Also a notification indicating chat's and content couldn't finish syncing. It's happened across multiple devices.
It's all gone after the update. Well, that's the end of using this pile of crap.
I have the same problem with three larger chats.
Just opened CoPilot and it applied an update. All my chats are gone. Everything I use for my business, gone.
