Any update? This is still occurring, and now certain users are asking us why our videos don't "look good."
Just use OBS studio, freeware and opensource instead, and then upload the video to stream. ;)
Aren't videos re-encoded after upload? Playback is adaptive bitrate, correct? It will still start low quality, regardless of source quality. If I'm not correct, please enlighten me. I want solutions.
Even if you:
Record in OBS at 1080p or 4K
Export at perfect bitrate
Upload a pristine file
Microsoft Stream will STILL:
Create multiple quality versions
Default to a lower starting resolution
Ramp up over time (if bandwidth allows)
