Auto-caption Not working [stuck at 99%]

I’m having an issue with Clipchamp’s auto-captions/transcription feature. Since yesterday, it gets stuck at 99% while creating the transcript and never finishes. I already tried multiple accounts, including both personal and work accounts, and I also tested different files and different speech languages such as English and Japanese, but the same problem still happens. I created a new project and tried exporting/reimporting as a workaround, but the issue remains. Could you please check whether this is a service problem, a bug, or a change in the free plan?

Other users reported nearly identical caption-generation failures in April, including processing stopping at 99% or with only a few seconds remaining. That pattern suggests a possible Clipchamp/Azure Speech processing issue or product bug, although I haven’t found an official Microsoft incident notice confirming an outage.

    Microsoft’s recommended troubleshooting is to:

    1. Reload the browser tab or restart the Clipchamp Windows app.
    2. Turn off auto-captions and try generating them again.
    3. Remove and re-add the media.
    4. Test in Microsoft Edge or Chrome with extensions disabled.
    5. Try a different network to rule out a firewall or extension blocking Azure Speech-to-Text.

Since you have already tested different accounts, files, languages, and a newly exported MP4, I recommend reporting this to Clipchamp Support as a likely service-side problem. Include the approximate failure time, whether you used the browser or Windows app, browser/app version, video duration, and a screenshot showing the process stuck at 99%. Microsoft confirms that Clipchamp uses Azure Cognitive Services to process audio for auto-captions.

In short: the feature is still included in the free plan, and the evidence points more toward a temporary service issue or bug than a licensing restriction.
