Can Mesh be used as a SharePoint Space replacement?

After reading through the limited documentation on Mesh. I concluded it is NOT a suitable replacement for SharePoint Space. This is because Mesh is based on calendar events. So, if you do not have calendar events, there doesn't seem to be much of a way to access it. So, if you use it for virtual tours, there would basically have to be a forever event of some sort. Also, it looks like it's really hard to create an environment, if you're not a developer. Basically, Microsoft seems to be catering to large companies. Smaller business and organizations are out in the cold. I am going to try Panoee, as a replacement.
