Look at internal and external communication via email/chat/meetings/etc.
Hi everyone, I thought might be worth sharing this with the community:
I am asked to look at how we as an organization communicate internally (within teams but also in between different teams) and with externals. It would be nice to know how much time we spend in meetings, chats, emailing, etc. with these 3 groups of people. I know that there is some information already available, for example:
1. Ways of working report -> Collaboration modes. We can look at how many hours we spent communicating internally.
2. Business resilience report -> External connections. We can look at how many hours we spent communicating with externals.
However, those reports transport different key messages and are different in the way they are set up. Some information is still missing and I can't find a good way to report what I explained above.
Did someone have a similar issue and is there maybe a solution available that I do not know yet? I tried running a custom query but then a new question comes up (How to best visualize all this?) .

Yes, to accomplish this you will have to run a custom query.
I would suggest piloting the analysis on a select 2/3 groups, running the custom query which provides a metric for each of the scenario's you've listed, and then playing with the visualization part... You can use the template visualizations and stories to give you some ideas on how to present/unpack the data.
I will see if I can run a custom query on the demo tenant and play around to see if I come up with something useful - no promises though! 🙂
