Offline-first AI seems like a smart approach where internet connectivity is limited. Smaller models running on affordable laptops or mini PCs could handle tasks such as translation and basic coding without requiring a constant connection.
A store-and-forward approach could also allow volunteers to synchronise their work whenever they reach an available connection. Starting with a small pilot before expanding seems like the right approach.
Microsoft Community Training also offers useful offline capabilities. The outcome is usually a more practical and sustainable solution for STEM academies working with limited infrastructure.
